Two homes in my neighborhood similar to mine sold for about 200k in the last year. Two agents have told me my home is worth between 175 and 180k. Could they be doing this either to make a quick sale or they know the appraiser will probably come in way low waht the house could sell for? Another house down the street is for sale again similar to mine. He was told he could get at least 190k maybe 205k if he’s lucky.

I am planning to sell my house privately (without an estate agent). There are several websites that advertise your property online and offer for sale boards to put outside. Has anyone used any and can you suggest which is most effective and will get my house the quickest, widest exposure online?

Does anyone know the best way to go about selling a property fast that requires complete renovation, and so they do not lose too much money? I know someone who is looking for a very quick sale but is not in the position to do any work to their unmodernized house. What is the quickest a short sale can be closed?
We are considering putting an offer on a house. It is a short sale that was just listed. The seller’s agent is out of the same brokerage office as our buyer’s agent. Will this help speed things up? What is the quickest amount of time you have ever known a short sale to go through and to closing? Also, once (if) we get offer approved by bank, how long then til it goes to closing?

We have lived in my home for over 7yrs, we are getting letters on the door from he mortgage company and it’s to the collections department. We do owe him when we had hard time but have paid him faithfully for well over a year and have given him alot of money like 1000 here 2000 there. He finally called us back after we confronted him about the notes which we have been getting since Dec, Jan. There is over 40,000 worth of work to be done with this house, he has a realtor and she told him the house is not worth saving so he is tring to quick sale or foreclose. He also said he is putting our money that we give him in an escrow account which I don’t believe at all. We do NOT have a signed lease just a verbal agreement. We did find another home and we are moving to get away from the mess. My boyfriend is wanting to pay double rent for a couple of months to help him out, fix the place up so he can sell, now remember the landlord lives in Florida and we live in Indiana. I think it’s really crazy to pay him rent when we won’t live here. Can he sue us for back, I couldn’t even tell you how much it is. I believe we are being used for money because according the bank he isn’t making payments. Am I wrong for just leaving or help him out?
